Messy Church in Abbotskerswell

Messy Church

The next Messy Church will be on Thursday 26 October when we will be thiking about Moses in the bulrushes.

We hold a Messy Church usually on the first Thursday of every school holiday.  We meet in Church House usually starting at 10:00.

Each session has a theme which will reflect the Church calendar for Christmas, Easter and Pentecost and will cover more general themes on the other occasions (e.g. Feeding the 5,000).

Over the years, we have had many, happy well-attended Messy Church get togethers. Our themes have included Mr. Noah, making animal masks, rainmakers, rainbows and animals and a huge ark from cardboard boxes. When it was the Olympics the emphasis was on teamwork and when it was the flower festival in church we contributed flowers, butterflies, animals and rainbows.

The October theme was “God making the world” and our world family and connections like lorries, ships and planes. Lunch included dishes and fruits from around the world.

In the first Messy Church of 2017, our theme was "Treasure" when we heard from Matthew 17 verses 14 to 16 about priceless pearls and treasure in a field.

Our Easter theme was “a God of forgiveness”.

The next planned meetings are:

June 1st when we shall think about the lost son.

August 31st when it's the turn of Jonah and the whale.

October (26th) will see us thinking about Moses in the bulrushes.

2018.  We have agreed the dates for the start of next year but have not decided on what we shall be thinking about:

2018 - February 15th and April 5th.

Messy Church is for people of all ages and everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there.
