Sunday Lunch

Sunday lunches are held on 1st Sunday of each month at 1:00 pm aimed primarily at those who are on their own in the Parish.  Lunches are held in Church House with a suggested donation.  You are requested to pre-book a place to help with catering by contacting the Parish Office.

These lunches have been provided since 2007 by a dedicated band of workers.  This came from a vision of Gill who recognised that, for many people, Sundays can be a little challenging.  They may be on their own or just find the effort of making Sunday lunch one thing too much in the week.

Since then four different teams of eight willing and talented volunteers have prepared, cooked and served over 3000 traditional Sunday roast meals using organic, locally sourced meat and vegetables and a further six teams of sweet-tooth connoisseurs have provided a choice of delicious puddings.  The suggested donation is £6, with any profits being reinvested in Church House facilities and as such have contributed to new chairs, a dishwasher and a refurbished kitchen.

We always need more volunteers so if you feel that this is something you would like to offer to help with (and it wouldn't be more than three times a year) or even offer to prepare some vegetables, make a pudding or provide a lift for any of our guests, then please contact the Parish Office.
